Consultation Policy
Preliminary Consultations: As stated throughout our website, we offer a free preliminary consultation for individuals seeking assistance with their business matter. This consultation is a 30-minute phone discussion, intended for those looking for legal assistance with either a new or existing business. When you first reach out, we will conduct a brief intake and gather basic information to determine if we are able to assist with the matter you are inquiring about. If we are, we will schedule your free consultation with a managing attorney. However, if we are unable to assist with the matter for any reason, we will let you know as soon as possible so that you may promptly continue your search for representation.
What we can do during the consultation is: provide an opportunity for prospective clients to speak directly with a managing attorney, so we can get a better sense of your particular business, goals and needs, identify general legal areas that may apply, and hopefully identify the specific legal services you may need assistance with, as well as approximate costs.
What we cannot do during the consultation is: provide any kind of legal advice, guidance, opinion or any other type of legal services. It is our express policy that no services can be provided until we have been formally retained to do so though an engagement agreement.
After the Consultation: It is our sincere hope to be able to earn your trust and business. However, the preliminary consultation is provided without the requirement or assumption that you will retain Kohler Legal for your business matter. Please keep in mind though, after the free preliminary consultation, unless we are formally retained, any follow up communications will be subject to our standard hourly rates.
